Eagle Wreck

The Eagle Wreck, located off the coast of Islamorada in the Florida Keys, is a captivating dive site for advanced scuba enthusiasts. This 287-foot Dutch freighter was intentionally sunk in 1985 to create an artificial reef, and it now rests in 110 feet of water. The ship was split into two sections by Hurricane Georges in 1998, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the dive. Divers can explore the ship's remains, which are encrusted with vibrant corals and sponges, and home to a diverse array of marine life including barracudas, groupers, and the occasional sea turtle. The depth and currents make this an advanced dive, requiring experience and proper equipment.
